How would you describe Peace, Contentment, Carefree? This month on my blog we will see how Hypnosis can actually help everyone to overcome Anxiety, let go of sadness, heal depression and become a generally more happy person. Peace and Happiness mean something different for every person however, it is important to understand that happiness is not a specific thing, or an object or a possession, it is important to acknowledge that it is not something we do or that we receive or a person in our life that bring us happiness. Happiness is a state of mind and only by reaching that state of mind, you Can Feel Happy. For example if you think that you can be happy only if or when you meet a certain type of loving companion, or only when you will be able to buy a certain car or a specific type of home, then you may continue to feel unhappy for the rest of your life.
To me happiness is Being Carefree and be in a state of playfulness, which can also be dancing, or feeling just silly or laugh at stupid jokes, and so at peace and relaxed. n a way, think about when you were a little kid, it did not take much to be happy, usually it would come whenever you felt playful and you would laugh and play with your friends. then we grow up and we tend to forget that simple, innocent joy. I can promise you that if you find a way to bring up your inner child in you, to bring it out, and feel, without thinking, playful, and carefree, well, you are already happy and relaxed, and so, since your emotions are like mirrors, you will be able to magnetize all the things you want into your life, naturally. So in a way, first you need to be happy then the the things or persons you want, will be attracted into your life. So being relaxed, playful, feeling carefree, are the keys to happiness. So , dance, laugh, play, take the time to do what you like. And Hypnosis can help you in allowing you to remove stress, anger, doubts, fears and heal old false and negative perceptions, so you, as a result, can be you you are and have always been, naturally carefree, playful and full of joy...try it!! You can schedule your Hypnosis session here If you have any comments, plz post them below.

I have been referred to your blog from one of your devoted readers :-) I enjoyed reading your most recent posts, I am in the same mind frame and same wavelength. I have been practicing self hypnosis for stress and anxiety, even if they say that self hypnosis is not as effective as hypnosis performed by a hypnotherapist, I still have to say that it has helped me immensely and it is a practice I do it routinely, in order to counteract daily stress and negative energies I easily absorb from others.

Oh and re: my previous post: I agree with you about that real happiness is PEACE and a sense of carefree and freedom, and it does not come from things we possess or from other persons in our life. We first need to be peaceful and carefree then we are already happy and everything else will add to the happiness, and yes hypnosis helps a lot in allowing you to feel this way. I wanted to ask your input about self hypnosis, if you think that it works or if you think it does not work as well as if done by a hypnotherapist and what is the difference? That would be great!!

Ann, thank you for posting your valuable feed back, I know it will be helpful to my readers. You have a point there, I have to say that, yes, hypnotherapy is more effective than self hypnosis, for this reason, because while you are doing self hypnosis, your conscious mind is still there with you and you are using it to think. while if you do hypnosis with a therapist he/she becomes your conscious mind and you are only running on subconscious and can be reprogrammed.

I meant to also bring up in my previous post that there are different ways to do self hypnosis, if you already have seen a hypnotherapist and you are listening to a recording with his/her voice, that is better than doing just self hypnosis, its almost as if you were there in person at his office. However I am not stating that self hypnosis is useless, as you say, it does actually help a lot with anxiety and stress reduction, it is in a way very similar in that, as meditation, but it is not hypnotherapy! I hope this helps!

When reading this post and the comments, more questions came up, First..I think I am a little confused about the difference between self hypnosis and hypnotherapy, I honestly thought they were the same, the difference is that self hypnosis is done by listening to a recording, while hypnotherapy is done in an office with the hypnotherapist present. Can anyone plz clarify this...?

I agree with what you write in this blog though about happiness, I have tried to feel happy after I had met that special one, but then it would turn out there was still something preventing me to feel at peace and happy.. the same with my career, I have a dream job.. that others would probably do anything to get...and why am I totally unhappy and depressed every day? How could hypnosis help in my case?

Hi Lorena, thanks for your comment and questions. Well I think the confusion is because not many people know what self hypnosis really is. When you speak of listening to a recording, that really is not self hypnosis, but rather a hypnotherapy recorded, (rather than doing it in person) so the recording in a way, it still is hypnotherapy.

RE: My previous reply here, I meant to add that self hypnosis, is actually only when you try to hypnotize yourself, without listening to a recorded session of hypnosis, rather go into a trance by mentally doing the progressive relaxation induction or other mental tools, but silence is required, This kind of self hypnosis, it really is ineffective, because while you are doing it, you are still thinking and using your conscious mind.

Good post, thanks everybody, I totally understand the difference between self hypnosis and hypnotherapy, many believe that listening to a recorded hypnosis is the same as self hypnosis, I was told also from a hypnotherapist I was seeing in Colorado, that it is not the same, and in addition, while a recorded hypnosis session still works, even that, is not as effective as a hypnosis done in person.

Adding to previous comment: Before exploring hypnotherapy in person, for some panic attack issues, in the past, I was doing self hypnosis, but..as Annaleen explains, it used to make me feel worse, because I was also thinking and analyzing and I was not letting the conscious mind, the critical part of my mind, drift, so it cant work, I am a living proof of that, however, I did get benefits only when I started to see my hypnotherapist, It worked!!
